Truth-The Hemorrhage of Pigs!
This is a highly emotional blog to help you and me understand the importance of loyalty, morals and values. It deals with trust and belief, faith and simply right and wrong. This is what is in this artists' mind when it comes to these issues and their meanings.
LOYAL:
1. Steadfast in allegiance to one's homeland, government, or sovereign.
2. Faithful to a person, ideal, custom, cause, or duty.
3. Of, relating to, or marked by loyalty.
LOYALTY:
LOYALTY:
1. the state or quality of being loyal
2. a feeling of allegiance
3. A feeling or attitude of devoted attachment and affection
4. love of country and willingness to sacrifice for it
I am an American. My mother, father, grandparents on both sides and great grandparents on both sides were also Americans. It is easily recognized that they were loyal to their government and believed they were great men and women who made the very best choices for the country and its citizens. As a child, those loyal beliefs were instilled in me and I just took for granted as prehaps they did, that this is just the way things are.
Believe it or not, it was not until my mid to late thirties that I realized something was very wrong. I've always had an inquizative mind and I still remember the exact moment I relaized that my loyalty was in the wrong place. I was sitting at a stoplight in Houston, Texas when a man in a wheelchair made direct eye contact with me. He was a pan-handler commonly seen in all big cities at the stoplights. I found myself staring at him and he at me.
I saw the deepest sadness in his eyes. The once sparkling spirit of life had been raped from the threads of his very fabric of life and his beliefs. An overwhelming sadness came upon me as I tried to imagine what could have possibly torn a human spirit into shreds? I looked away but then was compelled to look back, and it was then that I saw the wheelchair, legs missing from the knees down and the sign which read: "Will continue to fight for food, I am not dead yet!"

A rush of sickness filled my throat when I saw a small American flag, shredded and dirty stuck in the spokes of his wheelchair and when I looked even closer I saw a yellow envelope and the return address was The Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a veteran! He was torn to shreds by his loyalty. It was not enough to lose his legs, he came home to lose every shred of belief he had that someone would care about his sacrifice. He came home to see his commanders dancing in the White House while he had no place to sleep!
Anger boiled within me, feeling as though I had been asleep for a lifetime and had just woke up. Confusion about all I was ever taught and what I believed pounded through me like a knife. All I could think was WHY? Why was he homeless? Why was he hungry? Why was he abandoned? Why doesn't his sacrifice matter? Why is my government ignoring him? WHY DID HE STILL HAVE THAT FUCKING LITTLE AMERICAN FLAG STUCK IN THE SPOKES OF HIS WHEELCHAIR?...He was still loyal, that's why.
I spent many months talking to Johnnie. I would take him food and he would talk about his childhood and what he grew up believing. He worked hard to help me see the anger I felt did not hurt anyone but me and I worked hard to show him that anger is a powerful fuel. I helped him with his Veteran Appeals, he still remembered all the facts. We laughed and cried together, he remained loyal and believed the Department of Veterans Affairs would take accountability. His loyalty was unsurpassed and less than a year later he died never recieving his entitlement.

That is what "America" is about: "The land of the free and the home of the brave". It is America's people who make it that way. It is beyond the shades of gray, it is a black and white issue, it is wrong and right and the legal definition of insanity is not knowing the difference. Do our leaders know the difference between right and wrong? I am just a little person in a big world but I can easily see that someone somewhere does not know the simple difference between right and wrong when the loyal men and women who earn our freedom with their very souls are homeless...they should be sleeping in The White House at the very least!

How old are you? What is your life worth?
Social Security's original retirement age of 65 was set in 1935 when life expectancy was 63. Today, life expectancy is 77 — and, for those who live to 65, life expectancy is 83. The system used to benefit financially from people who paid Social Security taxes but died before collecting any benefits.
Did you miss something here?
When Social Security was originally designed to collect at 65, someone with high loyalty, morals and values thought you would be DEAD at 63...understand?
