">While researching this section of the painting it was not difficult to see the recurring connection of European Americans (The White Horse) and their roles in the ultimate destruction of culture, pride and freedom in the name of progress. The core of this scene is profound where you will see the wounded fighting for their very lives, as well as the unity of groups of humanity desperately trying to hold on to self. It is a sad and inspiring scene, not meant to glorify or magnify the events, but meant to show the proof of events as they occured and ultimately to reveal the core of destruction.

Education and accurate history is very important in this section of the painting. The Revelation Painting is a painting within a painting and the first impression is that you are seeing Revelation of the Bible in the seven scenes. The angels are warriors of God in battle with the Devil but when you look closely, they begin to look familiar and these historical figures become the angels on earth throughout time who fought against the Devil on earth throughout time. It is an exciting effort to bring back to life those who paid the ultimate price for what they believed in!

Historical information regarding the warriors will be within the journals associated with this painting, most likely to be found in The Journal of Visions. This journal was chosen for the "vision" of the people who fought so diligently and for the vision of imagination, honor and justice. The journal sketches will correspond with the painting where each warrior and thier specific story will be illuminated not only within the art, but hopefully within the mind to create understanding, passion and empathy ultimately interweaving our existence with their existence.

The deliberate failure to treat a group of male Negroes in Macon County (near Tuskegee), Alabama who had syphilis begun in 1932 and ended, by unfavorable publicity, in 1972. This experiment is difficult to discuss, because so much was wrong with it. In my opinion, there are three major mistakes. Page citations are to Bad Blood by James H. Jones, a historian and scholar in bioethics.

The U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) began using penicillin to treat syphilis in 1943 (p. 178) and penicillin became generally available in 1953 (p. 211). Despite this safe and effective treatment, which would have halted the progression of syphilis in the subjects, penicillin was deliberately withheld from the subjects. Not only did the PHS not give penicillin to their subjects, but the PHS (1) repeatedly distributed lists of names of subjects to local physicians and instructed the physicians not to give penicillin to these subjects (pp. 144-45, 162-63) and (2) supplied sham "treatments" (e.g., aspirin at p. 147, 160) to subjects, in an attempt to discourage subjects from seeking treatment elsewhere. The failure to treat this communicable disease violated Alabama law. (pp. 178, 212) In 1950-51, the PHS knew "that we have contributed to their ailments and shortened their lives." (p. 182) In the 1970's, the PHS offered the pretexual and lame excuse that penicillin would have harmed the participants if it had been given (pp. 8, 195), but when penicillin was given in 1973, there were no adverse reactions (p. 215). If, indeed, there were legitimate doubts about the safety and efficacy of penicillin in patients with long-term syphilis, administration of penicillin to these subjects would have made a worthy experiment in the late 1940's or early 1950's.

Dr. Vonderlehr, of the PHS, practiced a fraud on the subjects by offering a painful lumbar puncture as a "special free treatment", when, in fact, the procedure was purely diagnostic and only for the benefit of the researchers.

The subjects were not informed that they had syphilis (pp. 71-74, 219). Admittedly, informed consent would be extraordinarily difficult, because of the lack of education of the subjects: most were illiterate and many did not know their last name (pp. 4, 218). One of the best educated subjects had completed only eight years of school. To the extent that the subject's lack of education made informed consent impossible, these people should never have been allowed to suffer for the benefit of the physicians. It would have been a different matter if the subjects had been treated benevolently, for example, given penicillin prior to 1954.

To me, the most important question about the Tuskegee experiment is:

"Why was this experiment begun and continued?"

The project was begun in 1929 as a syphilis control program, using the standard therapy of 1929-33: a series of at least twenty IM injections of arsenic compounds, supplemented by topical applications of mercurial ointment. (pp. 45-90) However, there was not enough money for full treatment, despite the application of the PHS to private foundations. The subjects received only eight injections, which cured only 3% of them (p. 119).

There was a very high incidence of syphilis among Negroes in Macon County: 36%, which should be compared to the national average for Caucasians of only 0.4%. Given that these black men were living in distressing poverty (pp. 61-62, 83, 107, 201) and ignorance, it was easy to get them to follow orders from white physicians. When it was not financially possible to treat these subjects, the physicians may have looked for other things that they could do with this docile and relatively immobile group of people. In 1933, the long-term complications of syphilis were well known in Caucasians, but the common view amongst physicians was that Negroes responded differently to disease than Caucasians. So, apparently, the physicians decided to study the progression of untreated syphilis in Negroes, ending only when all of the subjects had been autopsied. I say "apparently", because with all of the bureaucratic obfuscation in the 1970's, it is not clear what the motivation really was in 1933.

I get the impression that the PHS saw these subjects as a wonderful opportunity for an experiment, when the PHS's first choice – a treatment program – was denied for lack of financial support, they found another experiment to do with this group of subjects. Support for my view is given by the continuation of the experiment in 1951: "the widespread use of ... [penicillin] had practically eliminated the possibility of finding another large group of syphilitic patients". (p. 179)

Given the unethical aspects of this experiment, why was it allowed to continue until stopped by public outcry in 1973? Apparently, the long-term experiment was never seriously questioned – as a matter of bureaucratic inertia – since it had continued for such a long time and was allegedly valuable. Further, when new managers were appointed, these new managers were reluctant to rescind decisions of their mentors. (p. 178, 180)

Bad Blood (at p. 190) alleges that the first physician objected to the experiment only in 1965. In 1966 a social worker at a PHS VD clinic in San Francisco objected to the study, and, in 1972, he tipped a reporter at Associated Press. (pp. 191-193, 203-205). The initial reaction of the PHS was that they had a public relations problem on their hands, but they had done nothing unethical. (p. 201) Remember, the Tuskegee experiment was no secret among physicians who worked on sexually-transmitted diseases: results from this experiment were published in medical journals. I think it remains an important andunanswered question of why the entire medical establishment was so blind to ethics for more than forty years.

Other points of Tuskegee experiment

From the viewpoint of 1996, it is shocking that women were omitted from the study. But, by not treating the men in the study and by not informing the men of the nature of the disease, the PHS permitted many women to become infected with syphilis and many infants to acquire congenital syphilis. (pp. 104, 165, 215) Around 1930, 62% of the men in the study had congenital syphilis (p. 76), so the PHS simply allowed the disease to continue, nonetheless, one would expect better of the PHS.

A study of nearly 2000 untreated syphilitics in Oslo, Norway from 1891-1910 had been published and a follow-up study of them was published in 1929. (pp. 10, 92-3, 167, 183) Why did the PHS need to repeat the Oslo experiment? The common view amongst physicians in the 1930's was that Negroes responded differently to disease than Caucasians.

Some commentators mention that the PHS paid for the subjects' funeral expenses as a way of inducing consent to autopsy. I see nothing wrong with such compensation.

Finally, despite the suffering of the participants, it is uncertain how much valid, new medical knowledge was published as a result of this study. A 1933 review by the American Heart Association said the results of X-ray examinations of syphilitic hearts had "very little, if any, value". (p. 139) No one knew the exact number of subjects. (p. 181) Twelve of the two hundred controls acquired syphilis in the first six years of the study. (p. 176) Some of the subjects may have received penicillin for other infections. (p. 202) The autopsies were conducted until 1952 with "high-grade Neanderthal equipment". (p. 184) And, of course, these supposedly untreated subjects had received some treatment in the 1930's, which cured about 3% of them and had unknown effects on the progression of disease in the remainder. (pp. 119, 131, 173-76, 182, 202) I am also concerned that chronic malnutrition might induce pathologies of comparable severity to partially-treated syphilis. So, in the end, this ghastly experiment tells us nothing about untreated syphilis. And since penicillin is an effective cure for syphilis, we have no reason to know about the progression of untreated syphilis.

There was also little valid medical knowledge from the so-called experiments in Nazi concentration camps. This parallel raises the question "Are unethical studies also likely to be invalid?". While I acknowledge that technical skills in biology and statistics are entirely different from knowledge of morality and ethics, I nevertheless maintain that a competent scientist is zealous about both technical and ethical concerns. In particular, I don't see how a physician can work amongst suffering people without being aware of, and concerned about, their suffering. The moment that the physician sees subjects (as if they were a inanimate object), instead of patients or people, the physician has lost some of his humanity. If the physician can't see suffering, how much else can he not see?

At least 28, perhaps more than 100, of the 399 subjects had died from syphilis. (pp. 1-2) Litigation against the PHS, et al., was settled in Dec 1974, 18 months after suit was filed, for $ 37,500 to each surviving participant and $ 15,000 to each decedent's estate. (p. 217) As yet another piece of exploitation of the subjects, the attorney who brought the suit received 1/8 of the settlement, which gave approximately one million dollars to the attorney – quite a nice income in 1974 for a case that did not go to trial. (p. 217) Interestingly, this black attorney included neither any predominantly black institution nor any black physicians or nurses as defendants (pp. 216), although the Tuskegee Institute and a number of black physicians had been involved in the experiment, which was operated from the beginning until 1965 by one black nurse. While one might be reluctant to blame a black nurse for following orders of white physicians, especially during the 1930's and 1940's (pp. 151-169), "following orders" was not an acceptable excuse for German war criminals.

The Tuskegee Experiment (From Truth-The Hemorrhage of Pigs!)

Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment

by Truth on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 3:00am

The Tuskegee syphilis experiment (also known as the Tuskegee syphilis study orPublic Health Service syphilis study) was an infamous clinical study conducted between 1932 and 1972 in Tuskegee, Alabama by the U.S. Public Health Service to study the natural progression of untreated syphilis in poor, rural black men who thought they were receiving free health care from the U.S. government.

The Public Health Service, working with the Tuskegee Institute, began the study in 1932. Investigators enrolled in the study a total of 600 impoverished, African-American sharecroppers from Macon County, Alabama; 399 who had previously contracted syphilis before the study began, and 201 without the disease. For participating in the study, the men were given free medical care, meals, and free burial insurance. They were never told they had syphilis, nor were they ever treated for it. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the men were told they were being treated for "bad blood," a local term used to describe several illnesses, including syphilis, anemia and fatigue.

The 40-year study was controversial for reasons related to ethical standards; primarily because researchers knowingly failed to treat patients appropriately after the 1940s validation of penicillin as an effective cure for the disease they were studying. Revelation of study failures by a whistleblower led to major changes in U.S. law and regulation on the protection of participants in clinical studies. Now studies require informed consent (with exceptions possible for U.S. Federal agencies which can be kept secret by Executive Order), communication of diagnosis, and accurate reporting of test results.

By 1947, penicillin had become the standard treatment for syphilis. Choices available to the doctors involved in the study might have included treating all syphilitic subjects and closing the study, or splitting off a control group for testing with penicillin. Instead, the Tuskegee scientists continued the study without treating any participants and withholding penicillin and information about it from the patients. In addition, scientists prevented participants from accessing syphilis treatment programs available to others in the area. The study continued, under numerous US Public Health Service supervisors, until 1972, when a leak to the press eventually resulted in its termination. The victims of the study included numerous men who died of syphilis, wives who contracted the disease, and children born with congenital syphilis.

The Tuskegee Syphilis Study, cited as "arguably the most infamous biomedical research study in U.S. history," led to the 1979 Belmont Report and the establishment of the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP). I mean REALLY came from? Like you, I never really thought about it until I began working on The Four Horsemen of The Revelation Painting. It was the rider's of those horses who showed me something I would have never seen otherwise. As I read and tried desperately to "read between the lines" about the horses and their independent missions or meanings, I started to see that each horse represented an amount of time on this earth! Evolution and change, social responsibility and unity were just a small part of it.

Then I found myself absorbed in the Locust of Scene IV which were described as first and foremost, "the face of a man". I became confused as I began to sketch this "face of a man". I thought: "What man, from what period of time, what race or all races?" As you can see, it is not an easy task when you think about the simple sentence: "The face of a man." This is where Physical Anthropolgy becomes important. This is where philosophy hits you on the head like being struck with a hammer! You start to think: "Really, who am I and where DID I come from?"

I suppose this is were religion comes into our lives and we just accept the God made us. We are supposed to believe in "blind faith" that it is a true and undisputable fact but I cannot. I need to see and maybe that is what fuels an artist's mind. Artist are visual, imaginative, inquizative and in my case, I have always had a "problem" seeing the big picture when it is made up from so many minute details...like our molecules and atoms. We are not just people, we are more than that and if we all originated from Adam and Eve, why do we look so different?

Human evolution refers to the evolutionary history of the genus Homo, including the emergence of Homo sapiens as a distinct species and as a unique category of hominids ("great apes") and mammals. The study of human evolution uses many scientific disciplines, including physical anthropology, primatology, archaeology, linguistics and genetics. The evidence for human evolution is overwhelming. This includes thousands of fossils that have been uncovered. These fossils show the progressive straightening of the spine, the increase in brain volume, and change in facial features. Humans have also inherited their tail bone (which is a remnant of what was once a human tail) from earlier primate ancestors.

All animals have a tail at one point in their development; in humans, it is present for a period of 4 weeks, during stages 14 to 22 of human embryogenesis. We also have a remnant (though non-functional third eyelid (the Plica Semilunaris), which is thought to have been inherited from Calabar angwantibo primate species, and extra external ear muscles. These ear muscles are used by animals to swivel and manipulate their ears (independently of their head) in order to focus their hearing on particular sounds. Humans still have the muscles that we would once have used for the very same reason – but our muscles are now so feeble that all they can do is give our ears a little wiggle.

DNA comparisons also show that we share approximately 98.8-99% of our DNA with our closest cousin, the chimpanzee (i.e., we only differ in 1-1.2% of our DNA). Evidence also includes ancestral DNA evidence ("Junk DNA") that humans share with earlier ancestors. For example, Humans have structures in their genetic make-up that were once used to produce enzymes to process vitamin C (it is called L-gulonolactone oxidase). Most other animals have this functioning DNA but at some point in our history, a mutation disabled the gene – whilst leaving behind its remnants as junk DNA. This particular junk DNA indicates a common ancestry with other species on earth.

The plantaris muscle also serves as evidence of evolution. The plantaris muscle is used by animals in gripping and manipulating objects with their feet – something you see with apes who seem to be able to use their feet as well as their hands. Humans have this muscle as well, but it is now so underdeveloped that it is often taken out by doctors when they need tissue for reconstruction in other parts of the body. The muscle is so unimportant to the human body that 9% of humans are now born without it. Other evidence includes Jacobsons's organ. Jacobson’s organ is a part of animal anatomy and it tells us a lot about our own sexual history. The organ is in the nose and it is a special “smell” organ which detects pheromones (the chemical that triggers sexual desire, alarm, or information about food trails).

It is this organ that allows some animals to track others for sex and to know of potential dangers. Humans are born with the Jacobson’s organ, but in early development its abilities dwindle to a point that it is useless. In some cases, structures once identified as vestigal simply had an unrecognized function. Wisdom teeth are also derived of evolutionary origin. Early humans ate a lot of plants – and they needed to eat them quickly enough that they could eat a sufficient amount in one day to get all of the nutrients they needed. For this reason, we had an extra set of molars to make the larger mouth more productive. This was particularly essential as the body lacked the ability to sufficiently digest cellulose. As evolution made its selections, our diets changed, our jaws grew appropriately smaller, and our third molars became unnecessary.

The term "human" in the context of human evolution refers to the genus Homo, but studies of human evolution usually include other hominids, such as the Australopithecines, from which the genus Homo diverged by about 2.3 to 2.4 million years ago in Africa. Scientists have estimated that humans branched off from their common ancestor with chimpanzees about 5–7 million years ago. Several species and subspecies of Homoevolved and are now extinct, introgressed or extant. Examples include Homo erectus (which inhabited Asia, Africa, and Europe) and Neanderthals(either Homo neanderthalensis or Homo sapiens neanderthalensis) (which inhabited Europe and Asia). Archaic Homo sapiens, the forerunner ofanatomically modern humans, evolved between 400,000 and 250,000 years ago.

One view among scientists concerning the origin of anatomically modern humans is the hypothesis known as "Out of Africa", recent African origin of modern humans, or recent African origin hypothesis, which argues that Homo sapiens arose in Africa and migrated out of the continent around 50,000 to 100,000 years ago, replacing populations of Homo erectus in Asia and Neanderthals in Europe. An alternative multiregional hypothesis posits that Homo sapiens evolved as geographically separate but interbreeding populations stemming from the worldwide migration ofHomo erectus out of Africa nearly 2.5 million years ago. Evidence suggests that several haplotypes of Neanderthal origin are present among all non-African populations, and Neanderthals and other hominids, such as Denisova hominin may have contributed up to 6% of their genome to present-day humans.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_evolution

So now, ask yourself this: "If science has developed a way to SEE the connections we have with other species, and are able to trace our origins back to a certain time, does that mean that Adam and Eve were "Great Apes" and if so and God created man in his own image, does that mean that the Great Apes that we humans are forcing to extinction are indeed ourselves killing the closest thing we know to God himself? Are we killing ourselves, are we forcing ourselves into distinction?" It seems as though if we wanted to believe these theories (which are substantiated by the proof of science and not writings in a book; the Bible), regardless of the argument, that we would hold LIFE itself very precious to our survival whether it be a man, an ape, or a plant because ultimately we don't know for sure.

A fool destroys himself and you never bite the hand that feeds you. Imagine...everyone has not always "looked" like Hollywood. Everyone has not always looked as we look today. There are ancient skulls which measure completely different measurements that do not match our measurements in today's time in any way. Ask yourself who were those people? We were given the responsibility of this world from them, they believed that we would care for it yet we are destroying the very fibers of our beings. It is important to think and understand "us" as humanity, "us" as the gatekeepers, "us" as the master's of our and other species. The decisions we make today affect the world today, not tomorrow, today. We are in charge and we are failing our world.

I realize some people will not like to read this, some will argue the validity, some will call me a "nut" but the bottom line is this: It is not about what you have in your hand when you leave this earth, it is about what you have in your heart and what you leave behind in the hearts of others. We are not in this world for ourself, we are in this world for one another and simple common sense can and will tell you (if you can hear it beyond the tip of your own nose) that the diamonds on your fingers, the mansion on the hill, the gangsta pistol, Air Jordans, not even the BMW in the driveway means anything to anyone but YOU. Sometimes certain shades of red are even used to symbolize anger, or aggression.

The word red comes from the Old English rēad. Further back, the word can be traced to the Proto-Germanic rauthaz and the Proto-Indo Europeanroot reudh-. In Sanskrit, the word rudhira means red or blood. In the English language, the word red is associated with the color of blood, certain flowers (e.g. roses), and ripe fruits (e.g. apples, cherries). Fire is also strongly connected, as is the sun and the sky at sunset. Healthy light-skinned people are sometimes said to have a "ruddy" complexion (as opposed to appearing pale). After the rise of socialism in the mid-19th century, red was used to describe revolutionary movements.

Red is used as a symbol of guilt, sin, passion and anger, often as connected with blood or sex. A Biblical example is found in Isaiah: "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be white as snow." Also, The Scarlet Letter, an 1850 American novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne, features a woman in a Puritan New England community who is punished for adultery with ostracism, her sin represented by a red letter 'A' sewn into her clothes. This all comes from a general Hebrew view inherited by Christianity which associates red with the blood of murder, as well as with guilt in general. Often, things will be in red to scare. Another popular example of this is in the phrase "caught red-handed", meaning either caught in an act of crime or caught with the blood of murder still on one's hands.

At one point, red was associated with prostitutes, or now, with brothels (red-light districts). In Roman Catholicism, red represents wrath, one of the Seven Deadly Sins. In Christianity, Satan is usually depicted as colored red and/or wearing a red costume in both iconography and popular culture. Statistics have shown that red cars are more likely to be involved in accidents. The color red is associated with lust, passion, love, and beauty and danger as well. The association with love and beauty is possibly related to the use of red roses as a love symbol. Both the Greeks and the Hebrews considered red a symbol of love, as well as sacrifice. Psychological research has shown that men find women who are wearing red more attractive.

Red is used as a symbol of courage and sacrifice, as in blood spilt in sacrifice or courage in the face of lethal danger. Examples of this are found in the flags of many nations including the United States, as well as in the novel The Red Badge of Courage, in which a soldier in the American Civil War discovers the meaning of courage. In Christianity, red is the liturgical color for the feast of martyrs, representing the blood of those who suffered death for their faith. It is sometimes used as the liturgical color for Holy Week including Palm Sunday and Good Friday, although this is a modern (20th century) development.

It is also the liturgical color used to commemmorate the Holy Spirit (for this reason it is worn at Pentecost and during Confirmation Masses). Because of its association with martyrdom and the Spirit, it is also the color used to commemmorate the Apostles (except for the Apostle St. John, who was not martyred, where white is used), and as such, it is used to commemorate Bishops, who are the successors of the Apostles (for this reason, when Funeral Masses are held for Bishops, Cardinals, or Popes, instead of the white that would ordinarily be used, red is used). In Roman mythology red is associated with the god of war, Mars. A Roman general receiving a triumph had his entire body painted red in honor of his achievement. Red was also the traditional color of the uniforms worn by the British Army, and such British soldiers were often known as Redcoats. The phrase "red-blooded" describes someone who is audacious, robust, or virile. In Edward de Bono's book Six Thinking Hats a red hat represents feelings and emotions.

In China, red (simplified Chinese: 红; traditional Chinese: 紅; pinyin: hóng) is the symbol of fire and the south (both south in general and Southern China specifically). It carries a largely positive connotation, being associated with courage, loyalty, honor, success, fortune, fertility, happiness, passion, and summer. In Chinese cultural traditions, red is associated with weddings (where brides traditionally wear red dresses) and red paper is also frequently used to wrap gifts of money or other things. Special red packets (simplified Chinese: 红包; traditional Chinese: 紅包; pinyin: hóng bāo in Mandarin or lai see in Cantonese) are specifically used during the Chinese New Year to give monetary gifts. On the more negative side, obituaries are traditionally written in red ink, and to write someone's name in red signals either cutting them out of your life, or that they have died. Red is also associated with both the feminine and the masculine (yin and yang respectively), depending on the source.

In Japan, red is a traditional color for a heroic figure. In the Indian Sub-continent, red is the traditional color of bridal dresses, and is frequently represented in the media as a symbolic color for married women. The color is associated with purity, sexuality in marriage relationships through its connection to heat and fertility. It is also the color of wealth, beauty, and the goddess Lakshmi.

In Central Africa, Ndembu warriors rub themselves with red during celebrations. Since their culture sees the color as a symbol of life and health, sick people are also painted with it. Like most Central African cultures, the Ndembu see red as ambivalent, better than black, but not as good as white. In other parts of Africa, however, red is a color of mourning, representing death.[60] Because of the connection red bears with death in many parts of Africa, the Red Cross has changed its colors to green and white in parts of the continent.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red

Facebook Mobile Photos

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.314307348581659.87950.100000071900264&type=3

Sorry there are other photos mixed within them.

02/10/2011 Suffocation

It seems a lifetime since I last saw The Revelation Painting. As a sadness that clouds your dreams and visions, I wait patiently for its return. All the paint and other elements, including the journals are under 2 hours away from me, yet it feels like halfway across the globe. You have to know what you are looking at and looking for in this world and I am looking at time passing me and looking for a way out.

Wondering if I have been ambushed by some unseen force, I am determined to reunite and complete this massive endeavor. My focus is currently on the remaining components needed, the drive to become free from my current circumstances, and to realize that as a reasonable person, I am fully capable of moving forward out of this fish bowl in which I am suffocating.

The Revelation Painting ©

©PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND THIS BLOG, SUBSEQUENT BLOGS AND THEIR CONTENT IS COPYRIGHTED INFORMATION. Drawing attention to the details is what ultimately creates "the whole picture". It is not just about a valuable stone, more importantly a valuable people. Precious and semi precious gemstones were gathered and crushed into shards for Scene VII of the painting which is the core of global participation.

By collecting stones from all over the world, their beauty shed an illuminating light on the people and cultures who build their homes and lives upon such beauty. In admiring the stones and their originations, one begins to admire the people and their cultures. Striving for an exposure unlike any other creating a kind of visual and artistic peace around the world! Imagine the hypnotic effect of the bluest sapphire from Sri Lanka combined with customary, bright colors of Sri Lanka's people...astounding! To learn more about Sri Lanka, visit: http://www.info.lk/srilanka/srilankaculture/index.htm

The Revelation Painting is a massive work of art measuring 12 feet by 40 feet with seven magnificent scenes, along with sub scenes used as transitional areas between scenes. Thirty canvases measuring 48″ X 48″ are required for the creation of the painting. The canvases are gallery wrapped cloth and custom-made wooden canvases required to carry the weight of gemstones and storage of elements of the painting. This painting will travel the world in exhibition and is history in the making scheduled for release in December 2011. Seven custom journals will accompany the work as noted below.

In this world of turmoil and unsettling conflict around every corner, something very beautiful can be created through resources not commonly used to create unity and world peace. Twelve total years will be dedicated to exposing the beauty of world resources, its people, spirit, culture and soul. It is a “presence” of beauty for by the world and for the world, a form of visual peace. Many inequities have arisen throughout the world and transformed once very beautiful resources into material items from which to be killed for simply possessing them.

The core of The Revelation Painting is to generate not only awareness but revenue for unfortunate members which live in some of the most valuable lands in the world yet have minimal necessities to survive. In many countries, basic human rights are being violated, people are starving to death and families are being murdered for precious gemstones. It is somewhat ironic that I, as an artist crush those very stones. The weight of humanity far outweighs the value of a diamond. Read about "blood diamonds": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_diamonds

The Revelation Painting also incorporates fiber optics, 3D “flip” graphic resources, thermochromics and other things commonly not seen in fine arts. Each gemstone holds a sacred place in the painting which is identified in one of seven journals being created simultaneously titled: The Stones. The journal includes information about the stones and it’s origin related to the painting. One of the mysteries of Revelation have been uncovered in this section of the painting!

The other six journals are:

The Journal of Dreams
The Journal of Visions (which also includes the last year of the making of the painting in a diary format)
The Journal of Measures (and Numbers)
The Journal of Sketches
Truth-The Hemorrhage of Pigs!
Journal of Acknowledgment, the most important journal in the series acknowledges the participation no matter how great or small toward completion of this masterpiece. It discloses not only individual contributions but information provided by the contributor and advertising if desired of their businesses, personal information, a message to the world, dreams and aspirations. Essentially whatever the contributor wants to say to the world!

Please see more information specific to each journal in the Journal Overview.

Scene II GOD measures 14 feet by 9 feet and is alive with color and energy, moving on the canvas and illuminated. As the audience becomes hypnotized by the sparkle and light, the painting begins to bleed before their very eyes: Truth-The Hemorrhage of Pigs! Transformation of religion becomes political and the viewer finds himself looking at a painting within a painting. Here is where the initial interpretation becomes a battle of good and evil throughout the painting. A hidden mystery is disclosed here, then the painting returns to the beauty of brilliant, white light and energy!

Over $2500.00 of high quality acrylic paints were used to create the Devil due to his remarkable, highly textured reptilian skin. Real gold was used in various areas of the painting! Human hair was used on some characters to enhance realism, embedded and combed into the heavy lacquer becoming a part of the painting forever. High gloss polymers mimic fluids suspended on the canvas. A mystery of religion, politics and humanity is revealed within the Four Horsemen scene which will be disclosed later in the blogs to follow!

Please subscribe to the blog for regular updates. The painting will be shown via live webcam in mid (est., June) 2010 with the artist working on it…THE FINALE'. You can find yourself sitting in your own home yet behind the artist watching work on the final details! There will be scans of the work and updates of all aspects of the wonderful creation starting in January 2011. You will view the last year of the making of this historical painting. It is a painting to the people for the people. You and the world are a part of it!

Please note that all aspects about the painting will be blogged including but not limited to: Letters written soliciting sponsorship and/or investors, auctions, advertising of the painting, in addition to specific blogs related to the making of the painting. You will not be solicited but will have access to where the areas of participation are offered such as having your name embedded in the painting as a crusader of good in the visible but invisible battle of good and evil which is occurring right before your eyes!
It is exciting, original and Revelation is Rising!
